About ChargeNear
Find EV chargers near any address.
A free, open-source map of public EV charging stations, built so hotels and Airbnb hosts can show guests where to charge.
What it does
ChargeNear shows public chargers around your location or any address you search, using the U.S. Department of Energy's station database (confirmed with networks every few months) plus community listings from Open Charge Map for places the government data doesn't cover.
- Filter fastBy network, Level 2 or DC fast, and power output.
- Walking distanceShow a 5 min, 15 min, or 1 mile circle around a property.
- One-tap directionsOpen any charger in Google Maps or share a link to it.
For hotels and Airbnb hosts
No on-site charger? You can still show EV-driving guests how close the nearest ones are. Enter your property's address, preview the map, and paste the code into your website. It's free and needs no account.

Privacy
ChargeNear has no accounts and doesn't store your location. If you allow location access, it's used in your browser only to center the map. To show results, your browser sends map positions and searches to Mapbox (maps and address search). Charger lookups go through ChargeNear's own server, which asks the U.S. Department of Energy and Open Charge Map for the area (rounded to about 1 km) and doesn't log your position. If something breaks, the page sends the error message (no location) to our logs so it can be fixed. Fonts and icons load from Google Fonts and cdnjs.
Open source
ChargeNear is MIT-licensed and contributions are welcome — whether that's code, design, or reporting a charger that's out of date. Missing or wrong charger data can be reported from any charger's details card, and the fix will show up here too.
